HOMELANDS SERVICES
Homelands, also known as outstations, are remote areas where small populations
of Aboriginal people live on lands to which they have traditional ownership or
historical association.
The Northern Territory Government coordinates the Homelands Program to
deliver housing maintenance, municipal and essential services to support
Aboriginal people to live on, develop and maintain their homelands.
Demed is funded by and works closely with the NT Government to currently deliver
the Homelands Program to 16 outstations across more than 24,000 sq km.
